W. Marie Pickett

I have been happily working as a therapist since 2003. I have worked for Provo School District, Slate Canyon Detention Center, Wasatch Mental Health, and have been the Director for Clear Horizons Clinical Services since the company opened in 2013. Much of my work has been in working with foster children and families, post adoption families, as well as helping individual and families overcome trauma. I am also well versed in treating anxiety, depression and relationship concerns. I routinely use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT certified), Equine Assisted therapy practices (Natural Lifemanship—NL trained), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR certified), Sand Tray therapy and many play-based therapies. I am a supervisor (RPT-S) for those seeking to get their Registered Play Therapist credential, and love working with and training clinicians as well. In addition, I am also a practitioner for Trust Based Relational Training (TBRI Practitioner).

Prior to being a therapist, I worked with a company that provided services for those with receiving services for disabilities. As a result, I have great appreciation for children, families and individuals who struggle with the difficulties that disabilities can bring. I enjoy being a part of amplifying abilities and being a part of the growth and healing process.

I have also worked in a family preservation program, which is an in-home program. I was able to gain a perspective of the benefit of meeting with clients in their environments as an agent of change where possible, and this is the premise that became the foundation for Clear Horizons Clinical Services.

Luis A. Torres

Luis A. Torres is a trauma-informed psychotherapist. He is bilingual, culturally competent, and a mental health advocate. His approach to mental health is strength based and client centered. He uses a holistic non-judgmental approach to therapy that provides genuine care, validation and psychoeducation that empowers people to identify and implement solutions in their lives. Luis has a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences with a specialization in family studies and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Utah Valley University. He is a License Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Utah, and he provides clinical treatment for children, teenagers, couples, and families that have experienced emotional and relationship trauma in the context of marriage, couples, and family systems.

Moroni Alvarez

I help high-functioning adults manage anxiety, burnout, trauma, and relationship stress so they can feel more grounded, confident, and effective in their daily lives.

I am a trauma-informed Psychotherapist and Marriage and Family Therapist with over 25 years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My background includes private practice, residential treatment settings, and outpatient care, which has shaped a practical, flexible, and compassionate approach to therapy. I have had the privilege of working with clients from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds and value understanding each person’s unique context and lived experience.

My work is collaborative, non-judgmental, and evidence based. I support clients who are functioning well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted on the inside. Together, we focus on building emotional regulation skills, reducing anxiety and stress, processing trauma, improving relationships, and navigating life transitions in a way that feels manageable and sustainable. I aim to provide tools clients can use right away while also addressing deeper patterns that keep them from feeling their best.

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy music, gardening, spending time outdoors, learning about psychology and healing practices, studying history and cultures, writing poetry, cooking, and exploring the connections between mind, body, and environment.

Ray Orbin

It is obvious when you walk into Ray’s office…there are bears everywhere. There are pictures of bears, carvings of bears and bear figurines on his desk. When asked why, he says bears have always been dear to him ever since he was a kid. His nickname growing up was “Bear”.

It was his roots in Missouri, being raised on a large farm with horses and cattle that drew Ray to Discovery Ranch. With over thirty years experience working with youth and their families, Ray is able to bring a seasoned approach to the therapeutic issues facing the students and their parents.

Starting out in Education, Ray went on to get his Masters Degree in Psychology and has become a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. Over the years Ray has been the clinical director at two different organizations so he brings to the students a wealth of knowledge, understanding and clinical expertise.

Ray and his wife own six horses they love to ride and train when not involved in their children and grandchildren’s numerous activities.

Morgan McClain

I am a Utah State University graduate who has a solid background working with children and adolescents. I have worked as a frontline staff at a residential treatment center in Provo called Heritage for 5 years and I have loved the opportunities that I have been given to make even a small difference in the lives of these adolescents. I also have experience helping with parenting classes and stepfamily classes through the Family Place in Logan. I like to create a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions as well as helping them to discover things that are going to work for them as individuals. I am trained in EMDR Therapy as well as TBRI and love the principles that it teaches. Some of my interests include Aikido a Japanese martial art that translates to the way of peace or way of harmonizing with energy. It teaches us to move with the energy being given to us and redirect it rather than clashing with it. I like to use principles from this martial art in my therapy work where applicable. I also enjoy art and expressive art is another thing that is heavily infused in my work.

Jacqueline Leavy

I am a CSW graduate from Boise State University and have been in the social work field since 2019. I have always had a passion for working with children and adolescents on building their emotional wellness. Before working at Clear Horizons, I worked at Wasatch Behavioral Health in the Stride program for several years helping kids build social and emotional regulation skills. I am TBRI informed and love helping parents find effective ways to empower and connect with their children to better face their challenges. I am a new mom and love experiencing the world in a new light with my little one! Family has always been important to me, so I understand the importance it has with my clients. I often use expressive arts and other experiential ways to interweave therapeutic modalities with my clients to create a safe and engaging environment for them.

Some of my interests include traveling, cooking with my husband, and reading. Along with these interests, I am always searching for opportunities to expand my knowledge!
